Teak in winter

Teak is generally suitable for outdoor use. In winter, prolonged moisture and poor ventilation deserve particular attention. When rainwater can drain and surfaces dry regularly, discolouration and dirt deposits are easier to limit.

Before winter, remove leaves and dirt with a soft brush and clean surfaces with mild soapy water if needed. Allow furniture to dry completely. Suitable covers should permit air circulation; airtight plastic sheeting can trap condensation. Store cushions and delicate accessories clean, dry and separately from the furniture.

Well protected through winter.

Suitable covers protect against dirt and weather. Important: water must be able to drain away and air should circulate between the furniture and the cover. Check furniture regularly when the weather changes.
