Practical guidance for teak surfaces, integrated extension leaves and outdoor seasonal storage.
Plantation teak
We use teak sourced from plantation forestry in Indonesia. Variation in colour and grain is part of natural wood. Untreated teak typically weathers to a silver-grey patina with exposure to sunlight and rain.
Cleaning
Use suitable gentle cleaning methods and allow wood and joints to dry. Avoid aggressive cleaners and high-pressure jets that may damage wood surfaces or furniture fittings.
Extension leaves
Viano, Mariva and Teakset Mini have integrated folding extension leaves stored below the visible table surface. Rainwater may enter through narrow gaps. After substantial rain, inspect the concealed wooden surfaces and let them dry before long-term closure.
Winter protection
Store furniture in a sheltered, well-ventilated place when possible. Do not wrap damp teak in airtight covers for long periods. Make sure hidden parts, cushions and extensions have dried.
